Damian Corney - Our First Face.

Recently we had the pleasure of Damian walking into our flagship boutique, by what some would call sheer luck, we however, think it was serendipity.

From the very first moment, his innate appreciation for quality, his discerning eye for colour, and his profound understanding of texture resonated deeply with Altea’s centuries-old heritage of Italian craftsmanship and refined elegance.

Who Is Damian?

Damian Corney is an Australian designer and TV personality, renowned for his work on TV renovation series and as the Founder and Creative Director of Grafico, a leading design studio specialising in wallpaper, interiors, and signage.

He also hosts Drive with Damian, a popular YouTube series where he interviews notable Australians while exploring the world of classic cars.

With over two decades of experience, Damian has collaborated extensively with luxury brands and led projects across interior and architectural design. His deep appreciation for both modern and classic cars, influenced by his Italian heritage, continues to inspire his creative vision.

We had the pleasure of sitting down with Damian, and immediately his passion for the finer details stood out.

"Walking into Altea is a feast for the senses. 

I was drawn immediately to two amazingly patterned linen scarves - the texture and pattern mirrored some of my favourite wallpaper styles so that was an immediate yes from me. 

However it was the double breasted lightweight suit in a mauve colourway that originally on the rack I wasn't sold, yet after being encouraged to try it on I loved it so much. 

Rolling up the sleeves for a more casual look coupled with some lightweight sneakers, my mind had already drifted away dreaming of an Italian getaway.

The finishing touch for the cooler months? A stunning trench coat, collar popped, ready to hit the autumnal streets of Melbourne."
